Australia managed to get off to a brisk start in pursuit of a 352-run chase against England in the ongoing Champions Trophy game in Lahore, despite losing Travis Head (6), and Steven Smith (5) in power play. England's new ball bowlers, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood, were breathing fire. The latter was too handle as he consistently bowled speed over 150Kmph. However, Matthew Short and Marnus Labuschagne have ensured that Australia's asking rate is under control by ticking along nicely.
England skipper Jos Buttler attacked from the word go and was determined to pick up early wickets. Archer and Wood answered those calls and put Australia on the back foot. However, the two quick pace bowlers could get another wicket before the field restrictions to put more pressure on Australia. Short, in particular, looked good as he showed positive intent against Wood and Archer. Meanwhile, Labuschagne is looking solid and is hoping to convert the start into a big hundred.

With the pitch not showing any signs of slowing down, the partnership between Short and Labuschagne would be keen to continue the third wicket partnership.
England seek wickets, as Short & Labuschagne put Australia in command
Playing his first ICC event, Short did not show any signs of nervousness on facing archrivals England. Rather the opener looked to cash in on loose balls and tried to keep with the asking rate. His innings would be vital if Australia have to overhaul England's 352 target.
