The Delhi Premier League 2025 curtain raiser is here, as the tournament returns following a successful inaugural run in 2024. For the 2025 edition, DPL has expanded by adding two new teams, and all eight teams announced their primary player retentions ahead of the Mega Auction, as confirmed by the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA).
The first season featured six teams North Delhi Strikers, Central Delhi Kings, Purani Dilli, West Delhi Lions, East Delhi Riders, and South Delhi Superstarz. Following its success and the discovery of fresh local talent, the tournament has now welcomed two new franchises: Outer Delhi Warriors and New Delhi Tigers.
Ahead of the tournament, the DDCA has allowed each team to retain one player. The official retention list is now out and features some big names, including Rishabh Pant, Priyansh Arya, and veteran pacer Ishant Sharma.
