Deepthi Sharma was the star of the show, scoring an unbeaten 62 and forming a match-winning partnership of 46 runs with Jemimah Rodrigues to chase down the 259-run target with 10 balls to spare. She played many impressive shots, but her one-handed six stole the show. Deepthi said she draws inspiration for that shot from Rishabh Pant.

(On the one-handed six) "I play these shots in practice. I picked that up from Rishabh Pant. We have played in England before, and we enjoy these conditions," Deepthi said.

Deepthi also highlighted the importance of her partnership with Jemimah and revealed the plan behind their successful run chase.

“I was waiting for an opportunity like this. I wanted to build a partnership with Jemimah, who consistently scores 5-6 runs an over.”

Deepthi Sharma was awarded player of the match for her 62(64), leading India to chase down the second-highest total in ODI history.

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur praised Deepthi’s knock, credited her bowlers, and stressed the importance of Jemimah and Deepthi’s match-winning partnership.
