India Women vs South Africa Women Match Preview: Sri Lanka Women's Tri-Nation Series 2025 Match 5

India Women will be up against South Africa Women in the fifth match of the Sri Lanka Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Series 2025 on May 7 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. 

It is an important match for both sides. Another win will confirm India’s place in the final, while South Africa need a victory at any cost to keep their hopes alive.

IND-W vs SA-W: Match Preview 

India, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, have been a dominant force in the tournament, securing a thrilling 15-run victory against South Africa in their earlier encounter in the competition. However, a recent three-wicket loss to Sri Lanka has put pressure on the Women in Blue to regain their momentum.

India put a score of 275 on the board against Sri Lanka, courtesy of Richa Ghosh’s fifty. But an outstanding batting effort from the hosts, led by Nilakshi de Silva’s quick-fire half-century, upset them as the total was breached in the 50th over.

South Africa, meanwhile, are in a precarious position after losses to India by 15 runs and Sri Lanka by five wickets. Their batting collapse against India in the run-chase of 277, where they lost last eight wickets for 80 runs after a 140-run opening stand between Tazmin Brits and Laura Wolvaardt, exposed vulnerabilities in their middle-order.

They failed to defend 235 runs versus Sri Lanka, who pulled off a successful run-chase in just 46.3 overs, handing South Africa their second consecutive defeat.
