Lucknow Super Giant's (LSG) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign began on an inauspicious note as they suffered a heartbreaking one-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag. The loss was hard to digest for LSG and its fans, as at one stage it looked like LSG would win the match in canter. The Rishabh Pant-led side had reduced DC to 65/5 in a mammoth run chase of 210.

However, LSG failed to close the game as DC's impact sub Ashutosh Sharma paced his innings terrifically to score an unbeaten 66 runs and take his team over the line from the jaws of defeat. After the match, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen having an animated chat with skipper Pant and head coach Justin Langer. The social media users sensed an opportunity to post memes regarding this meeting.

Some of the users even gave example of the infamous chat between Goenka and the then LSG captain KL Rahul after the side's crushing 10-wicket defeat against SRH last season. However, LSG have now shared a video where Goenka was seen motivating the side, and encouraging the players to take positives from the game and move ahead.

What did Sanjiv Goenka say about LSG's loss to DC

"Lots of positive that I take away from this game in batting, in bowling," Goenka said in a video shared by LSG.
"The way we had the Powerplay in both batting and bowling was brilliant. We are a young team. Let's look at the positives and look forward from tomorrow to the 27th. And hopefully, we'll have a better result. Disappointing result, but great game. So, well done," he added.

Despite going with an all Indian attack, LSG stayed in the contest right till the end. Their young bowlers like Digvesh Rathi, & Prince Yadav made an impact in the game. Pant was also proactive in bringing in changes on the bowling front.
