The 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) happening at the Ekana Stadium saw LSG claw their way to 171/7 in 20 overs after PBKS opted to bowl first.
LSG’s batting took a nosedive right from the start of the innings. Arshdeep Singh nabbed Mitchell Marsh for a golden duck in the opening over, sending the Aussie packing.
Aiden Markram and skipper Rishabh Pant did not last long either. Lockie Ferguson got Markram, who was looking in a good touch, but could not convert the start. Glenn Maxwell snuffed out Pant for a measly five-ball two. At the nine-over mark, LSG were wobbling at 61/3, staring down a low total with PBKS bowlers grinning ear to ear.

Then came the 10th over, bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal, and LSG found a pulse. Nicholas Pooran, batting at No. 3, decided enough was enough. Pooran smashed Chahal for two fours and a towering six, looting 15 runs off the over.
Pooran and Badoni dug deep, stitching a 54-run stand for the fourth wicket that kept LSG kicking. Pooran’s blade kept flashing, while Badoni played like a rock, nudging singles and twos. However, the West Indian was outfoxed by Chahal, who made a comeback after getting smacked all over the park. Pooran departed after scoring 44 runs off 30 deliveries.
David Miller arrived next at the crease and took the innings forward along with Badoni. In 13 overs, LSG nudged past 100, but PBKS struck back. Jansen returned and brought an end to Miller's 19-run knock.
When Miller fell at 119/5 in the 16th, LSG needed a lifeline, and Badoni and Abdul Samad delivered. Samad began the onslaught as he started his innings with a six off Jansen.
Badoni took on Chahal and hammered him for a six. The duo did not even spare Arshdeep and gathered 20 runs off the 18th over. Samad hit three back-to-back boundaries, including two fours and a six.

Arshdeep bowled well in the last over and claimed both Badoni and Samad's wickets. While Badoni scored a 33-ball 41, Samad raced off to 27 runs in 12 deliveries.
Lucknow Super Giants finished at 171/7 in 20 overs. For Punjab Kings, Arshdeep took three wickets and conceded 43 runs in his spell.
