Mohammed Siraj made a strong comeback after his dismal outing against Punjab Kings (PBKS), as the right-arm pacer struck two times in the power play to put Mumbai Indians (MI) on the backfoot. Chasing 197 for a win, the Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer managed to bowl wonderfully in the power play and dismissed Rohit Sharma (8), and Ryan Rickelton (6) cheaply. GT skipper Shubman Gill bowled Siraj for three overs on trot and reaped rich rewards.
MI failed to assert its dominance on GT, as their bowlers were relentless with line and length. If Siraj managed to disturb the timber regularly, then the wily fox Ishant Sharma bowled Test match line and length and strangulated the MI batters. The pacer used all his experience and troubled Rickelton and Tilak Verma (39). MI certainly could not break free in a tall run chase.
