Suryakumar Yadav's blitz against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) enabled a thumping eight-wicket victory for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Surya smashed a nine-ball (27) runs and showed glimpses of returning to old destructive best. In the process, the right-hand batter also entered record books as he got to 8000 T20 runs on Monday, March 31.
India's T20I captain has now joined an elite list featuring, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Suresh Raina. Surya got to 8000 T20 runs in his 288th T20 match in his career, much slower than the top-order batters like Kohli and Dhawan.
