Napier is all set to host the NZ vs PAK 1st ODI on March 29 from 3 AM IST. The two teams will be playing a three-match ODI series after the T20I series starting with the first game in Napier.
New Zealand won the T20I series 4-1 under Michael Bracwell's captaincy. Pakistan won the third T20I and underplayed themselves in the remaining games. They were a no match for the Kiwis who won the remaining games convincingly.
Now in the ODI series, Pakistan has a chance to make a comeback with all the senior players available. Mohammad Rizwan is back as the skipper with Babar Azam back in the squad as well. For New Zealand, an unfortunate injury to Tom Latham has ruled him out of the series. Bracewell will continue to lead the side in the ODI series as well.

This is the first game between the two teams at this venue in this series. The venue did not host any matches in the T20I series and will now host the first ODI. McLean Park is regarded as one of the most batting-friendly wickets in the world. The wicket tends to slow up as the game progresses. Thus the best bet for a captain will be to bat first and defend the target bringing spinners into play.
