Rohit Sharma is currently going through a very good phase as an international white-ball cricketer. He recently led India to their third ICC Champions Trophy title. He played a lead role with the bat and scored 76 runs in the final against New Zealand.
As a captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit has had unmatched success in white-ball cricket. He took the team to the ODI World Cup final in 2023. He then won the T20 World Cup as skipper in 2024 and followed it up with a Champions Trophy title in 2024.
However, Yograj Singh, the father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, does not seem to be happy with Rohit for some reason. It looks like Rohit's current fitness standards have not gone down well with him. He was recently fat-shamed by Congress spokesperson Shama Mohammed. However, she took a U-turn on her comments after Rohit led India to their third Champions Trophy title win.

I Will Make The Same Players Unbeatable As India Coach- Yograj Singh
Recently, Yograj Singh appeared in former Indian cricketer Taruwar Kohli's podcast 'Find a Way.' Yograj vowed that if he were given the opportunity to serve as the head coach of the national team, he would transform it into an unbeatable team using the same players. He also stressed the need to protect Kohli and Rohit. Speaking specifically about Rohit Sharma's fitness, Yograj said that he would make the Indian skipper run 20 kilometers to make him fitter and leaner.
"If you make me the coach of the Indian team, I will use these same players to transform it into a side that will be unbeatable for ages. Who will bring out their capabilities? Because people are always ready to throw them out of the team—drop Rohit Sharma or drop Kohli—but why? They are going through a rough patch and I want to tell my kids that I am with you. I'll tell them let's play Ranji Trophy, or I will make Rohit run 20 km. Nobody does that. These players are diamonds. You don't throw them out. I will be like their father. I have never differentiated between Yuvraj and the others, not even Dhoni. But what is wrong is wrong," he said.
Meanwhile, as per recent reports, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be retained in the A+ category in the new BCCI central contract that is likely to be announced in the next few days.
