Kerr, Green scored fifties for White Ferns in a losing cause.

Australia Women clean swept the White Ferns in the T20I series as they won the third T20I by 8 runs in Wellington on Wednesday. Chasing 181 to win, The NZ Women could only reach as far as 172/8 in their 20 overs.

Fifties by Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green were not enough to help the White Ferns salvage a consolation win. Australian Women were thoroughly dominant throughout the series having registered three comprehensive wins. They won the first T20I by 8 wickets, the second by 82 runs and the third T20I by 8 runs to reign supreme in the series.

New Zealand Women won the toss and opted to field first. Australia openers Beth Mooney (21 off 15) and Georgia Voll (75 off 57) added a 64-run stand for the first wicket. Voll then continued in her merry way, hitting 8 fours and a six in her knock. It turned out to be a match-winning knock in the end. Once the partnership was broken, the rest of the batters batted around Voll and helped Australia post 180 on the board. Phoebe Litchfield (26 off 16), Ellyse Perry (32* off 19), Annabel Sutherland (11 off 9) and Tahlia McGrath (14 off 5) all played their part in helping Australia Women post a mammoth total.

White Ferns Falter In The Chase Of 181

With the ball, the White Ferns bowlers went for plenty. Jess Kerr, the right-arm pacer was the most expensive of the lot as she went for 43 off her four overs. Rosemary Mair, Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr and captain Suzie Bates picked up a wicket each. Three out of the six bowlers used by NZ Women leaked runs at an economy of over 10.

In the chase, the New Zealand women's team lost wickets at regular intervals. Suzie Bates scored 7, Georgia Plimmer 4, Bella James 14 and Sophie Devine 1 as they were reduced to 54/4 inside the first 8 overs. Kerr played a lone hand in the top-order scoring 66 off 47 balls with seven fours.

She found a partner in Maddy Green who scored 66 off 35 balls and scored at a strike rate of almost 180. There were hardly any contributions from the lower-order which is why the hosts fell short of the target by 8 runs.

In the end, it was a comprehensive series win for the Australian women against their eminent rivals, the White Ferns. Georgia Voll was named the Player Of The Match and Beth Mooney won the Player Of The Series Award.
