Pakistani Journalist Mocks Corbin Bosch as He Prioritise Over IPL

A Pakistani journalist Farid Khan sparked a social media storm, taking a sharp jab at South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch after he was left out of Mumbai Indians’ (MI) playing XI in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday.

The incident stemmed from Bosch’s decision to prioritize the IPL over the Pakistan Super League (PSL) only to find himself benched by Mumbai Indians.

Initially signed by Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL’s Diamond category for the 2025 season, Bosch opted out when MI signed him as a replacement for injured pacer Lizaad Williams. The move promised exposure across MI’s global franchise network, including SA20, Major League Cricket and ILT20.

However, it drew ire from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which issued a legal notice for breaching his PSL contract. Bosch later clarified to PCB officials that his decision was career-driven, not a jab at the PSL, as per the sources.

As MI benched Bosch vs GT, Farid seized the moment and posted a photo of Bosch in the dugout with a caption on X:

"Corbin Bosch skipped the PSL to play for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He’s not in the playing XI now."

This year’s scheduling clash has heightened tensions between the two leagues. The PSL, shifted to April-May overlaps with the IPL’s March 22-May 25 window, forcing overseas players like Bosch to pick sides.
