Cheteshwar Pujara took a hilarious dig at Michael Vaughan over a tweet he posted four years ago during India’s 2021 tour of Australia, where Vaughan's prediction of a 4-0 whitewash went completely wrong.
Michael Vaughan and Cheteshwar Pujara, both part of the Sony Sports commentary team, had a lively discussion about Vaughan’s past tweets on India. The former England captain, who spends most of his time on Twitter these days, is well known for his banter with fellow cricketers especially Wasim Jaffer.
Pujara Roasts Vaughan Over Infamous 4-0 Prediction from 2021
This time, it was Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara who joined in the fun, targeting one of Vaughan’s old tweets. After India was bowled out for 36 in the first Test of that 2021 series, Vaughan had predicted a 4-0 defeat. But India staged a stunning comeback to win the series 2-1 and clinch the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Vaughan's tweet had read: "Told ya … India are going to get hammered in the Test Series … #AUSvIND #4-0."
Pujara, a key part of that historic series, brought up the tweet during commentary. In a hilarious moment, he revealed he had framed the tweet and even got Vaughan’s signature on it. That tweet, indeed, aged beautifully.

India in Control After Posting 471 and Early Breakthrough
Meanwhile, India posted a strong first-innings total of 471/10, thanks to centuries from Jaiswal, Pant, and Shubman Gill. This marks only the fourth time three Indian batters have scored centuries in a single Test innings.
India continues to dominate, having already taken the wicket of England opener Zak Crawley for just 4, courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah. England still have a long way to go in their first innings. So far, they are scoring at 5.50 runs per over, taking on Mohammed Siraj but avoiding risks against Bumrah.
